tilling it like it is
"And one knows it sometimes when one stands by oneself in a wood at sunset and the mysterious deep gold stillness slanting through and under the branches seems to be saying slowly again and again something one cannot quite hear, however much one tries."

Agricultural giant Monsanto is best known for their production of pesticides and genetically modified foods, but they have a controversial history as a chemical company with a slew of toxic cover ups. In addition to their battle against small farmers, the newest buzz about the corporation is the speculation that their GM seeds are linked to the die off of bees.

Do you want children to roll around in pesticides while enjoying the outdoors this summer? Each year, American homeowners use approximately 70 million pounds of pesticides to maintain their lawns and gardens. Yet as the use of these chemicals continues to increase, researchers keep uncovering links between pesticide exposure and serious human health problems, including several types of cancer, neurological and reproductive disorders, and birth defects.

When children play in the grass and put their hands in their mouths afterwards, they run the risk of ingesting harmful pesticides. They are especially vulnerable to these hazardous toxins since their nervous, respiratory, reproductive, and immune systems are not yet fully developed.

Among the products to watch out for is Scotts new gene-altered lawn grass. This leading home and garden product is genetically engineered to withstand Monsanto’s herbicide RoundUp - intended to kill garden weeds. The growing popularity of Scotts grass means more pesticide use in neighborhoods, parks, schoolyards and golf courses - ultimately increasing your exposure to harmful toxins.

What’s more is that the FDA does not require companies to place warnings on their products about potential long-term or chronic health effects from the active ingredients they contain. Therefore it’s up to us to take a stand against these harmful products. The most effective way to combat pesticides is to punish Scotts and Monsanto in the marketplace. Take the pledge to refuse to purchase their products - we have major power with our wallets!

Pfizer owns Monsanto. Americans eat GMO, spray poisons on their lawn, etc.. then for the rest of their lives get their conditions treated by parent company Pfizer.
